Westernport Agencies (ABN 68 088 876 171) was founded in September 1986, by George Mejia, trading under the name 'Point Leo 100' until November 1989 when the name was changed. The company's focus was to provide purchasing services to customers with specialised needs.
For 10 years we provided total purchasing services to one of the most successful Video Gaming Machine Manufacturers, and other customers who needed specialist help in procuring hard to source components. At the same time Westernport Agencies started importing connectors from manufacturers in Japan and Taiwan such as Oupiin, Alex and EDA to service the cable manufacturing industry.
Micro-View Australia Pty. Ltd. (ABN 68 082 378 612) was incorporated in April 1998. While Westernport Agencies continued as a separate entity. This change was introduceto facilitate diversification, which enabled Micro-View Australia could concentrate on "open frame" monitors, touch screens and electronic sub-assemblies, while Westernport Agencies concentrated on servicing the cable assembly manufacturers. In July 1st 1999 both Westernport Agencies and Micro-View Australia relocated to premises in Mentone, Victoria, to allow for growth and to better service an expanding customer base.
In mid-2003 both companies were relocated to the current facilities in South Oakleigh. Westernport Agencies continues to expand the product range it offers to its customers, while Micro-View Australia remains focused on open frame monitors, touch screens and ancillary products.
